This is the annual public lecture in memory of Professor of Sociology of Law Reza Banakar.

A Study of Parental Maintenance and Social Welfare

Lynette J. Chua is the Jernal Singh Khosa Professor in Law and Vice Dean (Research) at the Faculty of Law, National University of Singapore. A law and society scholar who specialises in the study of legal mobilisation and legal consciousness, Professor Chua is the recipient of multiple awards and recognitions for her research and writing, including the International Prize of the Law & Society Association. She is also the Coordinator of Global Activities for the Law and Society Association, a former president of the Asian Law and Society Association (2022-23) and an editor-in-chief of the Asian Journal of Law and Society.
