Crisis and emergency preparedness
Sudden and serious situations can sometimes arise without warning. The crisis management and contingency plan of the Faculty of Social Sciences provides guidance and states the measures that are to be taken when an accident happens or when threatening or crisis situations arise at the workplace.

In case of an emergency or acute danger
- Call 112! Remember to dial "0" first if you are calling from a desk phone.
- Also inform the University security control centre by calling 20 700. The security control centre is available 24 hours a day. You should call the security control centre in the event of an unsafe situation, serious incident or other need for security assistance. Remember that the phone number for the Security control center is on the back of your LU card.

The Faculty of Science’s Crisis Management and Contingency Plan is based on Lund University’s comprehensive Crisis Management and Contingency Plan. An English version will be published shortly.

All staff and students are encouraged to provide their mobile telephone number in Passport. We can then send text messages to you if we need to.
- Go to the account management portal Passport
- Log in as “User”
- Select “Verification of contact information”
- Follow the instructions
In case of death
The HR website has a page (in Swedish) describing the procedure for dealing with the death of an employee. It describes what the department or the HR section is responsible for doing.
