Programmes and programme syllabi

The decision-making process for a programme involves several stages and the decisions are made at different levels. For those writing programme syllabi or administering programmes, there is information below on the procedures that apply within the Faculty of Social Sciences and who to contact for support.

Establishing, revising or discontinuing programmes

Decisions to establish, revise or discontinue programmes are always made at faculty or University level. Therefore, always start by contacting the programme coordinator at the faculty office to set up a timetable.

The faculty’s regulatory documents provide more details on the procedures that apply at the Faculty of Social Sciences.

Writing programme syllabi

On the Staff Pages there is a handbook (in Swedish) to guide you through the process. The handbook provides good examples, tips on wording, the reasoning behind the various parts of a programme syllabus and the regulatory background. Via the list of contents, you can click through to the section you want to find out more about.

Contact the Course Syllabus Committee

The faculty’s Course Syllabus Committee also deals with programme syllabi. Therefore, schedule this stage in your timetable in consultation with the programme coordinator at the faculty office.
