Applying for assessment of teaching expertise
Lecturers, senior lecturers and professors on indefinite-term contracts, or associate senior lecturers, at the Faculty of Social Sciences are entitled to apply to have their teaching expertise assessed and be appointed Recognised Teaching Practitioner or Excellent Teaching Practitioner.
Apply no later than 15 September

If you have previously applied
Applicants who have previously applied for an assessment of pedagogical skills must submit a new complete application, including the teaching portfolio, as a completely new assessment will be carried out.
If you are applying to be assessed as an excellent teacher
If you have previously been appointed as a recognised teacher, you can apply to be assessed as an excellent teacher. You submit a new application, covering all the criteria, demonstrating progression in relation to criteria 1-5 and that you fulfil criteria 6 and 7. (Information on the criteria is available in the PDF-file below.)
The assessment process
Teaching skills will be assessed with reference to two levels:
- Recognised Teaching Practitioner
- Excellent Teaching Practitioner
To be assessed at the level of excellent teaching practitioner, previous appointment as a recognised teaching practitioner is required.
The assessment is based on certain criteria that are listed in the document below.
