More applicants to our programmes and courses

On 15 April, the application period for this autumn's programmes closed, and we are pleased to note that interest in social and behavioural sciences continues to increase.

In the national admissions round, the total number of applicants to the faculty's programmes increased by approximately 13% and to freestanding courses by 10 % compared to 2023. Lund University as a whole also received more applicants – the increase is 8.6%, which is in line with the national figures.

-    It is, among other things, our major professional degree programmes, psychologist and social worker, that contribute to the overall increase being a little higher than the national average, says Mårten Frostgård, programme coordinator at the Faculty Office.

The professional degree programme in psychology was particularly successful in terms of the total number of applicants. This is also in line with UHR's analysis that more and more people want to take a professional degree.

-    It's also great that the Bachelor's Programme in Human Resources, which was revised and renamed quite recently, continues have a positive trend, says Mårten Frostgård.

4 of the 10 most applied for programmes and 6 of the 10 most applied for courses at Lund University are given by the Faculty of Social Sciences.
