Food waste sorting is now being introduced at Campus Paradis

Be careful where you throw the banana peel! We are now gradually introducing separate food waste bins in the Faculty's buildings in Lund.

Cardboard, metal, plastic and glass have been sorted for a long time. Since May, separate bins for food waste have also been provided in the staff kitchens at Gamla Kirurgen. Work will continue over the autumn to gradually introduce food waste management in all faculty buildings in Lund. The aim is to have all buildings ready by the end of the year.

“At the same time, we are reviewing our waste sorting system as a whole and making sure that there are containers for recycling all seven waste fractions (glass, cardboard, food waste, metal, deposit bottles, plastic and residual waste). We are also changing the location of the containers to encourage recycling. During the spring, we experimented with placing the residual waste container at the bottom, focusing more on food waste, cardboard and plastic instead. This has had a very positive result, drastically reducing the amount of residual waste", says Magnus Wärja, business developer at Kansli S.
