Decolonial research praxis through creative methods

Lund Social Science Methods Centre invites you to a workshop with Navtej Purewal, Professor and Deputy Director of the Decolonising Arts Institute, University of the Arts London and Professorial Research Associate, SOAS, University of London. This workshop will engage participants with the notion of research as an imaginary with possibilities and potentials to envisage alternatives against the backdrop of ongoing legacies of colonial knowledge production and hegemony.
Below you will find more information and a link to register for the workshop.
Abstract by Prof. Navtej Purewal
Decolonial research praxis strives to elicit a more diverse range of perspectives, deeper understandings of structures, alternative ways of seeing, making, and knowing, and recognition and questioning of the surviving architecture which underpins the legacies of coloniality. In the session, several creative methods will be introduced and applied. Participants will be encouraged to consider the kinds of insights and nuances which creative methods can bring to qualitative inter/un/interdisiplinary research which otherwise may not be possible through other methods.
Practicalities
Coffee (fika) will be served in the break.
