Lund Social Science Methods Centre

The Lund Social Science Methods Centre is committed to the application and development of social science research methods and the exploration of new ways of investigating society and human behaviour.

We strive to cultivate and employ the full range of social and behavioural science research methods and we encourage and grow from interdisciplinary exchange and collaboration. Please contact the centre's main coordinator if you have any ideas or thoughts on future activities.

Lund Social Science Methods Centre is funded by Lund University and the Faculty of Social Sciences.

The four pillars

The Lund Social Science Methods Centre is organised in the form of an umbrella organisation, and builds on four pillars:

  • Qualitative Methods Lab
  • Experimental Methods
  • Computational Sciences
  • Competence Development

Activities are organised within these pillars but also between them. We support collaboration across various methodological perspectives, as a way of exchanging ideas and creating synergies. To make all of this happen, we will offer a range of activities, including method courses, seminars and workshops, writing retreats, methods café, exhibitions and other events, all organised and hosted by researchers in the faculty.
