Analytic Refinery with Professor Iddo Tavory - for PhDs only
Lund Social Science Methods Centre invites all doctoral students at the Faculty of Social Sciences to a half-day workshop with Professor Iddo Tavory.
This workshop is conducted in English.
Iddo Tavory is Professor of sociology at NYU, and a theorist of culture and interaction. Iddo Tavory is also giving a seminar here at the Faculty on 9th of June (Abductive Analysis: Surprises and Theory Construction), and is now offering a workshop for all doctoral students at the Faculty of Social Sciences with the scope of refining analysis in one's research.
Submission of data
Before the workshop, you should submit some data that you found surprising and that sent you in unexpected directions. When you select the paragraphs you find interesting in the interview/fieldnote, include the page before and after the quote, and a couple of paragraphs on why you found this interesting/surprising.
