Researchers at the Faculty of Social Sciences reached 168,000 readers on The Conversation

The Faculty of Social Sciences published 19 articles on The Conversation in 2025, reaching 168,000 readers. The faculty had the second-most articles of all faculties and covered topics from the MAGA movement to the Turkey-PKK conflict.

Lund University had a record year on The Conversation in 2025. The university’s researchers published 76 articles that together reached 1.1 million reads. In total, all of the university’s articles – including older articles that continue to be read – reached 1.5 million readers during the year. The Faculty of Social Sciences was one of the university’s most active faculties with 19 articles.

Magnus Lindén was one of the faculty’s most productive authors with three articles on radicalization, resistance to authoritarian regimes, and the psychology of the MAGA movement – the articles written in international collaboration, with the MAGA article reaching 28,000 readers. One of his articles was also translated into Portuguese.

Pınar Dinç published four articles on Turkey, the PKK conflict, and Syria, providing continuous visibility for the faculty’s Middle East expertise.

The faculty’s articles were published both as in-depth analyses and podcast episodes, demonstrating the versatility of formats on The Conversation.

    • Why should readers care? (max 100 words)
    • What are your main points? (max 150 words)
    • Why you? (max 200 words)

  4. Select UK as the edition when submitting. This is important for your pitch to reach the right place.
  5. Wait for feedback from an editor. If you haven’t heard back within three days, the pitch likely hasn’t been accepted this time. Think of a new idea!
