Feasibility study on a possible merger between KEG and LUCSUS

Ola Hall, Head of the Department of Human Geography  (KEG), and Barry Ness, Director of LUCSUS, have been commissioned to carry out a feasibility study prior to a possible merger between the two units. During the work, relevant groups among the staff will be involved. The project group for the organisation project also assists with support during the process.

No decisions have been taken at this stage - the purpose of the feasibility study is to analyse the opportunities and challenges of a possible merger and provide a basis for how a new, joint department could be organised. The feasibility study will address financial and administrative issues, as well as the effects of the merger on education, research, profile, etc.

The feasibility study shall be completed by 31 January 2025.
