Since the project started, the number of departments within the Faculty has gone from 11 to 9. The revised project plan summarises the work and sub-projects carried out so far and describes the direction for the upcoming period. The project group is now working towards the objectives of the directional decision, i.e. more mergers during the project period, which runs until 2029. However, no further mergers are expected during the coming academic year.
The project plan has also been supplemented with a section on further organisational development.
"Creating robust organisations is, of course, not just a matter of making them bigger. In discussions with the project steering group, the heads of department and the faculty board, it has become clear that we also need to work on other things, such as sharing experiences, developing principles and providing advice on how departments can be organised effectively to allow for collegial influence," says Charlotte Simonsson, vice-dean and project manager for the organisational project.
The activities for the coming year can thus be divided into three areas:
- the organisational project as a whole
- continued work with merged departments and follow-up of feasability studies
- further organisational work.
