8. Selection and decision
Outgoing exchange students
Selection process
Your application is registered and processed. We check that the application is complete and that the eligibility requirements are met. All complete applications are ranked and the allocation of mobility places starts accordingly. All applicants are reviewed in the order of their ranking and given a place as high as possible on the list of universities applied for, where a place is available. The order in which you place the universities is therefore important. You will receive a place at your highest possible option and all other universities applied to in your application will be cancelled.
Please note that the host university may have restrictions that affect which student can be allocated a place. This could be, for example, prerequisites, language skills, level or grades. The semester in which you can go abroad may also affect your chances of getting a place. If you do not have a given semester for studying abroad, university choice is taken into account first and semester preferences second. You may be allocated a place at a university.
Ranking criteria
A combination of the following ranking criteria forms the basis for the nomination decision:
- Academic results - academic credits and grades
- Goals and motivation - Statement of Purpose
- Relevance of the studies to the programme - Study Plan and possibility to transfer credits
- There must be a certain spread between students studying different subjects and at different levels (undergraduate and graduate)
Other:
- Students who have already completed a Bachelor's course in a subject, and who apply for advanced studies abroad in this subject, will not automatically be ranked higher
Decision
Once the selection has been made, we make a nomination decision. Nominated students will receive an individual nomination decision by email with a link to a page where a response is due within 7 days.
We contact the respective host university and nominate in accordance with the decision - with this nomination, the responsibility shifts to you and your host university. You are then responsible for obtaining the necessary information, for the application and for forwarding the necessary documents to the host university. Please note that the final decision on admission is made by the receiving university.
