If you do not receive the registration link on 31 March, 2023, please email graduationceremony [at] sam [dot] lu [dot] se
It is not possible to register for the ceremony after the deadline. In compliance with Swedish law and fire safety regulations, there is a strict maximum amount of people allowed in the event venue. We determine the student body, audience/guest, and staff size of each ceremony based on this legal maximum. As such, if you miss the deadline, you and your potential guest(s) will not be considered in the total number of people we estimate will be in the building during each ceremony.
The only case where it may be possible to join despite missing the deadline is in the case that a classmate of yours (who registered on time) can no longer attend. In such a case, you and your classmate can email the faculty at graduationceremony [at] sam [dot] lu [dot] se and we can see what is possible.
In the days after the registration closes (on 17 April), we will send out more information about the ceremony, including how many guests each graduating student can bring.
In compliance with Swedish law, fire safety regulations and and ventilation requirements, there is a strict maximum amount of people allowed in the event venue. We plan each ceremony based on the amount of students and staff who will be participating. We can then determine how many guests each student is allowed to bring in relation to the legal maximum of the building (which is set by the aforementioned maximums).
This event will be recorded and live-streamed. By participating, you are aware of the potential that you could be filmed, photographed, or recorded on behalf of Lund University during the ceremony. The event will be live-streamed on YouTube and remain published on YouTube. Each master programme cohort will also be photographed on stage, and the resulting image(s) can be published by the university thereafter for any amount of time.
If you intend on participating in the event but do not wish to have any images or recordings of you taken, there will be a designated photo-free zone where you can sit. In such a case, you will not be able to walk up on stage with your graduating class.
You can find information about the University's handling of personal data at the link below. If you want to know how your personal data is used, or you feel that we have used your personal data in a way that violates the agreement or current legislation, please contact Lund University’s data protection officer.
Personal data and data protection (GDPR) at Lund University
If you have complaints regarding Lund University’s processing of your personal data, you are always entitled to contact the relevant inspection authority, the Swedish Data Protection Authority.
If you do not complete your programme on time, whether because you are not able to submit your thesis on time or for another reason, you are still welcome to attend the ceremony - as long as you registered on time.
The dress code for the ceremony is semi-formal attire.
Your attendance or non-attendance in the Graduation Ceremony will in no way impact whether or not you graduate from your programme or from Lund University. There is no requirement to attend or participate, and graduating from your programme is only determined by whether or not you complete and fulfill the requirements of your degree as designated in its programme syllabus. The Graduation Ceremony is entirely optional.
