CMES Seminar: Qur’anic Gardens and Muslim Environmentalism: Religious Environmental Ethics in Practice

This presentation introduces the research project Quranatura and examines contemporary Muslim environmentalism through the case of the Qur’anic Botanic Garden in Doha, Qatar. It explores how Qur’anic texts and Islamic traditions are mobilized to articulate environmental ethics and sustainability initiatives, and considers the garden’s role within broader debates on religious environmentalism, activism, and state-led green agendas.
