Conference: Peer Support and Experiential Knowledge
Welcome to three days of an international conference (day one) and training and seminar days on using personal experience in health- and social work practice, education and research. The conference and training days are hosted by the School of Social Work and the ERASMUS partnership Experiential Knowledge.
The aim of the conference is to promote awareness of using personal experience from service users, practitioners, teachers and students in the development and improvement of health- and social work practice, education and research.
Three internationally recognized keynote speakers representing important issues within social mobilization, social work practice and education, will present how experiences of people have affected their work. The keynotes will take part in workshops, discussing the development and use of experiential knowledge within their area.
The two training days offers you a broad range of parallel seminars, with reseachers and colleagues from our network and a plenary session on Experiential Knowledge and Partnership Experiental Knowledge.

10.30 – 11.00 Keynote Alie Weerman: Experiential knowledge in education.
Psychologist and professor in mental health care and social work. She combines scientific knowledge, practical-professional and experiential knowledge and mainly conducts participatory action research at the intersection of psychiatry and society.
11.10 – 11.40 Keynote David Tobis: From pariahs to partner.
PhD sociologist and social justice activist working to transform child welfare systems globally. He is an international leader in the fight for child welfare systems to respect the rights and meet the needs of parents and their families.
11.40 – 12.10 Keynote Nicoals Lunabba: Peer support and the importance of relationship with vulnerable youth.
Nicolas Lunabba is the author of the best selling book Will you be sad if I die? He is the founder of the organization Helamalmö who works for social justice and sustainability with a special focus on children and young people in Malmö, Sweden.

The Erasmus+ partnership Experiential Knowledge in Higher Education is working on building blocks that are important to integrate personal experiences as a source of knowledge into the curricula of social work and nursing. In this introduction, an overview of the partnership as well as of the work in progress is presented.
Presented by: Introduction by Jean Pierre Wilken and the coordinators of the seven work packages from the project Experiential Knowledge in high Education.

There are a limited amount of seats on the Training and seminar days, and we will let you know if your registration will be accepted. Please register no later than 15 April.

The conference is hosted by the Lund University School of Social Work and the ERASMUS partnership Experiential Knowledge. Experiential Knowledge in Higher Education is a strategic partnership between twelve universities from ten countries in Europe and their local partners. In a three-year project the partnership is focusing on developing knowledge and education on experiential knowledge.
