SUMMARY:Skill School workshop-serie: Digital Ethnography
DESCRIPTION:Kontakt: skillschool@sam.lu.se\n\nNedan följer en kort sammanf
attning och en länk till Skill Schools webbsida där du hittar mer inform
ation och kan anmäla dig till denna och andra Skill School-workshops. Wor
kshopen hålls på engelska.Ethnography is a broad\, interdisciplinary res
earch strategy that seeks to generate contextual knowledge about social wo
rlds based on the immersion of the researcher into those worlds. In its cl
assical (perhaps\, analogue) version\, researchers working in an ethnograp
hic key commit themselves to ‘being there’ and ‘getting close’ to
the everyday lives of the people\, practices or places they study. Focusin
g on ambiguity\, mess and mundanity\, ethnographic research is celebrated
for putting the ‘life’ back into everyday life and the ‘social’ ba
ck into social science. &nbsp\;The course may be especially interesting fo
r participants who are planning to conduct fieldwork that requires some de
gree of ethnographic sensibility or a working on an otherwise immersive qu
alitative research project. But eventually\, anyone interested in the epis
temological\, political and ethical implications of studying politics and
power through immersion in both online and offline worlds will be most wel
 come.&nbsp\;&nbsp\;Time: 13:15-16:00 both daysInstructor: Kristin Anabel E
