 hare her experiences and knowledge about the arts-based research method bo
 dy mapping and its possibilities using virtual reality (VR). Professor Sha
 nnaeik’s research employs a decolonial and participatory framework aimed
  at understanding the lived experience of displaced communities from the M
 iddle East.To initiate the session Mikaela Linell\, PhD student at the dep
 artment of sociology\, will give a general introduction to body mapping re
 search and its unique composition which allows for exploration of embodied
  perspectives and insights.We warmly welcome you to this session where you

 alitative research.BiographyYafa Shanneik is a Visiting Professor of Islam
 ic Studies at Lund University\, Sweden. Beginning in December 2025\, she w
 ill take up the position of Professor of Islam and Society at SOAS\, Unive
 rsity of London. Her research explores the intersections of Islam\, gender
 \, and migration\, with a particular focus on Europe and the Middle East. 
 Shanneik has a strong interest in transnational Muslim female resistance m
 ovements and has conducted extensive ethnographic fieldwork in the UK\, Ge
 rmany\, Ireland\, Jordan\, Iran\, and the Arab Gulf states.&nbsp\;Organise
