OBS! Detta seminarium hålls på engelska.
Why is Turkey blocking a strategically important enlargement of the alliance that it has been a member of since 1952? This talk puts Ankara’s veto on Sweden’s application to join NATO in the context of a broader transformation of Turkish foreign and security policy over the last 20 years.
Paul T. Levin is the founding Director of the Stockholm University Institute for Turkish Studies and Managing Director of the Consortium for European Symposia on Turkey. A frequent commentator on Turkish affairs in Swedish and international media, he regularly publishes scholarly works, policy pieces, and popular commentaries on Turkish politics and foreign policy. Paul is a Docent in International Relations and holds a Ph.D. in the same subject from the University of Southern California.
Please note that this seminar has been moved from 26 October to 2 November.
The talk is held at CMES, Finngatan 16 in Lund. If you are not able to attend in-person, there is an option to attend via Zoom. Please register here for Zoom attendance: https://lu-se.zoom.us/meeting/register/u5Aqc-uupzIsE9U4h303tVc6HoEOV9pg…
