Work-life and organisation

The way work is organised affects both the individual and society at large. Good leadership is not only valuable for the organisation but also from a human perspective.

The Faculty of Social Sciences conducts research on the role of managers and employees, the organisation of workplaces, and how leadership and education can lead to improvements. Communication and its importance for organisations as well as for managers and employees is also one of the faculty’s research fields.

The focus is on the problems that many workplaces face. How should our working life be organised to reduce stress, one of our most common diseases? This is something that Lund University's social scientists are studying, as well as issues related to discrimination, bullying and the consequences of ordinary incivility in the workplace.
