Teaching Academy
The faculty’s Teaching Academy is a means to promote teaching expertise and stimulate continued teaching development. Lecturers, senior lecturers and professors on indefinite-term contracts, or associate senior lecturers, at the Faculty of Social Sciences are entitled to apply to the Faculty teaching academy to have their teaching skills assessed and be admitted as a Qualified Teaching Practitioner (QTP) or Excellent Teaching Practitioner (ETP).
Please note that the criteria and application process will be revised for the application in 2023. The information below applies to previous application rounds.
Applications
Yearly recurring deadline for applications to the Teaching Academy is 15 September.
Applications must include:
- Teaching portfolio
- Curriculum vitae
- Recommendation from Head of Department
- Certificate of completed discussions with two colleagues

How to write a teaching portfolio
Teaching portfolio is an elective course open to teachers and staff with teaching assignments at Lund University. It is offered by AHU as a support for those who want to develop an account of their pedagogical competence and merits. The course is given every spring semester.

Assessment of teaching skills
Teaching skills will be assessed with reference to two levels:
- QTP, Qualified Teaching Practitioner
- ETP, Excellent Teaching Practitioner
