Time to nominate candidates for the positions of dean, deputy dean and members of the Faculty Board 2027-2029

The Faculty of Social Sciences will during the autumn term elect a new dean, deputy dean and Faculty Board for the upcoming three-year term (1 January 2027 - 31 December 2029). The Faculty Nominating Committee now wishes to receive nominations to these positions no later than 26 June.

The Faculty Board is composed of the dean, deputy dean, six teaching staff with research expertise, two other staff and two external members.

The Nominating Committee is therefore asking for nominations for the following positions for the term 1 January 2027 – 31 December 2029:

  • 2 teaching staff with research expertise for the positions of Dean and Deputy Dean
  • 6 teaching staff with research expertise to the Faculty Board
  • 2 other staff to the Faculty Board.

Definition of the category teaching staff with research expertise

Teaching staff with research expertise must be a professor or member of the teaching staff at the faculty, holding a teaching position requiring a PhD or equivalent. 

Definition of the category other staff

Members of staff at the faculty that are not teaching staff with research expertise in accordance with the above definition.

Who can be elected

Those eligible to be elected for the position adhere to the requirement for each category and have employment at the Faculty of Social Sciences.  

Those entitled to vote and nominate

Entitled to vote and nominate are employees at the Faculty of Social Sciences, whose employments are until further notice, or for a continuous period of at least two years, and minimum part-time at 50 percent. Holders of doctoral studentships are not entitled to vote or nominate as they are regarded as students in this context.

How to nominate

The Nominating Committee would like to receive your nominations by mail, as per the following points: 

  1. Name and position of the person you wish to nominate (it is permitted to nominate yourself). 
  2. Provide a short motivation to your nomination.
  3. Confirm that the candidate is available and has accepted the nomination.
