Hi Åse! You are the Faculty Ethics Adviser - what does that mean?
- Researchers can contact me with questions about ethical review. I prefer to have a conversation, for example via Teams or Zoom, so I can ask questions. If I can't answer your question, I can direct you to the right person.
What are the most important things to consider when it comes to ethical review?
- Plan your research in detail before applying for ethics authorisation. Also remember that it is the responsibility of the researcher and the principal investigator to ensure that the application is completed correctly. The Ethical Review Agency cannot answer questions about this (but I can).
What is the first step for those who want to learn more?
- Take the research ethics course in "Kompetensportalen". It is comprehensive in terms of research ethics. The course covers not only laws, but also good research practices. The modules are divided into smaller sections so it is easy to find what you are interested in.
