The Social Sciences Faculty Office will soon have a new division; the International Office. The division will be responsible for planning and coordinating international student exchange and faculty-wide international programmes and courses at first, second and third cycle levels.

The staff at the International Office will also administer the inter-faculty agreements with partner universities worldwide and provide advice and support on internationalisation issues to faculty management and departments.

It is the staff of the current International Office, Graduate School's administrative staff and BIDS’ * adminstrative staff who form the new International Office. Helen Wiman, who is currently the Administrative Manager at Graduate School, will become Head of Office.

The purpose of the change is for example to:

  • Clarify the task of strategic internationalisation work.
  • Improve support for faculty management and departments in internationalisation issues.
  • Improve the work environment for employees and managers. Enable synergies and reduced vulnerability in operations.

The changes will take effect från 1 January 2025.

*BIDS = Bachelor's Programme in Development Studies, the only international Bachelor's Programme at the Faculty.
